Snacks and Lunches are prepared in our kitchen. However, if a child requires options other than the scheduled menu, because of allergies, special diets, personal preference, etc., food may need to be provided by parents. Children are welcome to bring treats to share for birthdays and other special occasions.
All snacks provide two food groups; i.e. apple slices and crackers or string cheese and bananas. We are a peanut-free preschool.
All lunches provide (1) a meat or meat alternative such as eggs, black beans, etc. (2) two foods from the fruit and/or vegetable group and (3) a bread or grain. Milk will be offered.
Naptime is from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM. Children are encouraged to rest during naptime. After the first thirty minutes of rest time, any children not sleeping are offered books, puzzles and other quiet activities.
Annual October Field Trip to The Pumpkin Farm is a fun and exciting adventure. Field Trip Authorization is included on the Emergency Card in each child's Registration File. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to participate, as this contributes to the success of school outings. Any parents who drive on the Field Trips are required to show valid driver's license and current auto insurance information.
Medications can be administered to children at preschool for non-contagious conditions. This will occur only after a parent has completed a Medication Authorization Form to be kept on file. All medications must be kept in the original container and labeled with the child's name.
To ensure the well-being of all preschoolers and staff, children must be free of fever and/or vomiting for at least 24 hours before returning to preschool. Children sent home from preschool due to fever or vomiting will not be admitted back into school the next day.
If a child has any medical or dental emergency, we take immediate action; e.g., administer CPR, stop bleeding, apply ice, first aid, etc. After an initial assessment of the situation by the director, we will call emergency services, if necessary. This is followed by quick parent notification. For non-life threatening situations, parents will be notified immediately.

Regular tuition payments are required during these school holidays. We believe it essential to provide these holidays to keep our high standard staff members motivated and enthusiastic.

Annual Tuition Increase - The Joy of Children implements a minimal annual tuition increase, effective March 1, to accommodate cost of living increases.
